Walsall FC are a professional football club based in Walsall, England. Also known as the Saddlers due to the town's saddle-manufacturing history, Walsall's home ground is the Bescot Stadium.
📜 Walsall FC History
The club was founded in 1888 when a pair of local clubs, Walsall Town and Walsall Swifts, joined together to form the Walsall Town Swifts. In 1896, they dropped the suffixes to become simply Walsall FC.
Walsall were notably founding members of the second, third, and fourth tiers of English football, in 1892, 1921, and 1958, respectively.
In 2015 they reached the EFL Trophy final for the first time, but they were defeated by Bristol City.
