There is a wide range of paid on-site car parking at the stadium:

Car Park A - located 150 m (2 min) walk from the stadium, Car Park A is most frequently used by away supporters; spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
Car Park B & C - located 150 m (2 min) walk from the stadium, Car Park B belongs to the home supporters; spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis
Car Park D & E - located 150 m (2 min) walk from the stadium, Car Parks D & E are primarily dedicated to home supporter coaches and minibuses
Disabled Parking - there are dedicated parking spaces for Blue Badge holders in both Car Park A and C; contact the stadium's Disability Liaison Officer on +44 (0) 1204 673652 for enquiries

All car parks typically open at 07:00 on matchdays.

🚆 Train

If you are travelling from the North, there are frequent train lines from Blackpool and Preston. If you are travelling from the South, you can use the train lines from Manchester and Bolton.

You can take the Northern line to reach the grounds and get off at the Horwich Parkway Station, which is a 451 m (7 min) walking distance to the stadium.

Manchester is certainly not short of swanky modern and grand traditional high-end hotels for those more concerned about luxury either.

📍 Where To Stay

As the city centre, Manchester Piccadilly is one of the most pricey areas to stay in, however it benefits from being close to most of the city’s best landmarks, shops, and bars, as well as the train station, which offers national rail services.

If you’re all about the music though, like many Mancunians are, stay in the Northern Quarter where its best alternative bars and rock clubs are located. With many galleries and street murals dotted around the area, this area attracts a creative crowd too.

Some creatives, however, prefer Ancoats as it is slightly less commercialised and more authentic than the Northern Quarter, featuring eclectic cuisine, sultry speakeasies, and traditional craft breweries.

Manchester is known for being an inclusive city, and its beloved Gay Village has plenty of gay-friendly shops and hotels, and a number of renowned gay bars, which can be found on Canal Street.

Spinningfields and Deansgate are the more elegant alternative to the Northern Quarter for young professionals, as the redeveloped industrial financial centre is filled with cosmopolitan cocktail bars and refined restaurants.

Hulme and Beech Road are the best locales for families and those looking for a quieter community atmosphere. Easy to reach by bus or tram, these neighbourhoods have their own high streets which offer an outstanding selection of restaurants, pubs, cafes, bars, and shops.

Much of Manchester is connected by tram, and it is usually the cheapest and quickest way around the city. That said, Manchester is a relatively small city, and you can reach almost anywhere within the inner city in around 10 minutes.

About Toughsheet Community Stadium

The Toughsheet Community Stadium, formerly known as the University of Bolton stadium, is an all-seater stadium in Greater Manchester, England, with a capacity of 29,000. It was previously known as both the Reebok Stadium and the Macron Stadium. It is primarily used for association football matches, and has been the home ground of Bolton Wanderers Football Club since it was opened in 1997.

📜 History

The first ever match played at the ground was between Bolton Wanderers and Everton on 1 September 1997; the first player to score at the stadium was Alan Thompson, on 23 September 1997.

Aside from football, the Toughsheet Community Stadium has also hosted the UK Open darts competition, boxing matches, rugby matches, snooker tournaments, and concerts; Oasis, Pink, Elton John, Coldplay, and Little Mix have all played at the venue.

The stadium is rounded in shape, but is still comprised of 4 distinct stands, including the Nat Lofthouse East Stand, named after Bolton Wanderers' most famous former player.

Accessibility & parking

There is elevated seating available for wheelchair users in front of both the Carrs Pasties (North) Stand Lower Tier and Bolton Kia (West) Stand Lower Tier. For covered viewing or hospitality, the UK Healthcare Suite located on the second level of the stadium is also disabled-accessible.

Ambulant disabled fans may wish to sit on the front 2 rows of the stands. All stands offer pitch-level entry.

All accessible viewing areas are within easy access of concessions stands.

There are accessible toilets located near to all accessible viewing sections.

Assistance dogs

Spectators who require assistance dogs can use the areas at pitch level around the ground. Should you a require an assistance dog, contacting the ticket office in advance of your visit is encouraged, so that seating arrangements can be made in advance.

There are headsets available for visually impaired supporters on matchdays; headsets can either be reserved in advance by contacting the stadium, or on a first-come, first-serve basis upon arrival.
