Elland Road is situated in the Beeston area of Leeds, just south of the city centre. It is easily accessible by car and bus.

🅿️ Parking

Elland Road is located very close to major roads such as the M621, A6110, and A643, meaning it is not difficult to reach by car from outside Leeds.

Onsite Parking

There are 2 main on-site car parks at Elland Road, Car Parks A and B. Parking in these car parks is not generally free, but visitors can often pay with cash on arrival. The Elland Road Park and Ride Car Park adjacent to the stadium can also be used. Fullerton Car Park, another on-site option, is generally used for season parking pass holders and special guests only.

Park and Ride

On Leeds United home matchdays and some other major events, a special Park & Ride service operates from Temple Green Park and Ride, and Stourton Park & Ride. The service is operated by Hunters Coaches and must be booked online in advance.

Unofficial Parking

JustPark and similar sites provide a wide range of well-reviewed spaces and private facilities to help guests secure a space close to the ground.

City Parking

Leeds City Centre has many public parking facilities that can be used for visitors to Elland Road. From each of these car parks, the quickest way to access the stadium is by bus.

🚖️ Taxi

By taxi, it can take less than 10 minutes to reach Elland Road from central Leeds. There is a dedicated drop-off point at the stadium, within Car Park A (via Elland Road and Hoxton Mount).

Leeds is a relatively small and affordable city with all kinds of accommodation on offer from cheap and cheerful hostels and budget hotels to swanky Airbnb’s and high-end boutique hotels.

📍 Where To Stay

Leeds city centre is the most popular area to stay because all of its top shops, restaurants, hotels, and landmarks are concentrated here, as well as the main train station providing cross-country links.

The Calls, a group of streets running along the north side of River Aire in the city centre, is the best place to stay if you want to be in the beating heart of the city’s nightlife.

If you want all the shops and restaurants at arm's length, stay in Briggate, an area within the city centre known as Leeds’ main shopping hub. The Trinity Leeds shopping mall and the Victorian arcades will be at your beck and call.

On the south side of River Aire, just a few minutes’ walk from the city centre, the tech-centred Holbeck Urban Village and Granary Wharf is the ideal area for urbanites who love industrial architecture, high-end bars, and indie breweries.

Although the Woodhouse and Blenheims neighbourhoods are immediately north of the city centre, they offer a family-oriented residential feel with quiet streets and parks nearby. As the University of Leeds is located in this area, it is also populated with students, so there’s a number of trendy local bars and global eateries dotted around too.

Leeds city centre is only 1.5 km across and even less from north to south, so it’s very easy to walk to Holbeck Urban Village, The Calls, and even to Woodhouse. For those who’d prefer to take transport, there’s a reliable bus service running throughout the city, as well as public hire bikes.

About Elland Road

Elland Road is a football stadium in Yorkshire, England, the historic home of Leeds United Football Club.

📜 History

Although the stadium is intrinsically linked with Leeds United and has been their home ever since their formation in 1919, Elland Road itself opened 22 years beforehand in 1897.

It was initially known as the Old Peacock Ground after the pub which faced the land on which it was built, which was owned by Bentley's Brewery.

Holbeck Rugby Club were the first sports team to occupy the venue, although it began hosting football matches the following year starting with the West Yorkshire Cup final contested by Hunslet and Harrogate.

Leeds City Football Club became tenants in 1904 after Holbeck were disbanded, but they too went under after being expelled from the Football League in 1919. The newly-formed Leeds United took over shortly after, and the stadium has since been ever-present during its home club’s many successes over the last 100 years, with multiple renovations ensuring that it has always been able to offer fans some unforgettable moments!

Rugby league team Leeds Rhinos have also used Elland Road on occasions, and the venue has also hosted international rugby across both codes. Concerts, and other one-off events such as boxing matches, have also been held within Elland Road’s 4 famous stands.

🧑‍🦽 Disabled Facilities

Accessibility & Parking - Blue Badge holders can use the accessible car parking behind the North (Don Revie) Stand. The car park is accessed via Bobby Collins Way. Accessible car parking is also available in Car Parks A and B, accessed off Elland Road. All spaces across all car parks are allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
There are 3 main drop-off points for disabled spectators, located in the following places:

Behind the North (Don Revie) Stand
Car Park A (next to McDonalds)
Outside the West (John Charles) Stand ticket office, on Elland Road - for fans using the South (Norman Hunter) Stand

Disabled spectators should enter the ground at either the 2 entrances at either end of the West (John Charles) Stand, or at the entrance at the north end of the East (Jack Charlton) Stand.
During most events, Elland Road stewards are available to help disabled spectators enter and exit the ground, as well as locate their seats.
Many of the stadium's food and drink outlets have lowered counters for spectators in wheelchairs, and lift access is available to help spectators reach the outlets on the upper levels, including Billy's Bar. There is also a dedicated lounge area for disabled spectators and their personal carers/assistants, called the Nicky Chapman LUDO Lounge. It is located in the north-west corner of the ground, as is open 2 hours before kick-off.
Toilets - Accessible toilets are located throughout the stadium. They can be accessed via RADAR key, or with the assistance of stewards.
Assistance Dogs - Assistance dogs are welcome at Elland Road, but advance notice should be given to the venue so that they can be accommodated as well as possible.
