Ibrox Stadium is located 4.2 km west of Glasgow city centre, on the south side of the River Clyde. It is easily accessible by car, bus, or train. Parking is available, but due to congestion, public transport is recommended when travelling to the stadium.

Below you can find general information on travel and parking for Ibrox Stadium. Individual events may have additional/restricted services available, and so we recommend clicking through to the event and viewing the Travel & Parking tab for event-specific information.

🅿️ Parking

Ibrox Stadium has 2 options for event parking:

Standard parking – Albion Car Park 160 m (2 min) walk. Spaces can be purchased on arrival for £10
Family parking – Family Car Park (formerly Away Car Park). Spaces can be purchased for £5

To purchase a space in the Family Car Park (or pre-book a space in the Albion Car Park), visit Rangers' ticket centre or call 0871 702 1972 (calls cost 13p per minute plus network extras). Spaces are subject to availability and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please note, the Stadium grounds become pedestrian-only for 90 minutes before a match and so vehicle movement is prohibited except for emergency services until 45 minutes after the final whistle or crowds are cleared from the grounds.

🚖️ Taxi

Taxis can pick up and drop off on the roads surrounding the venue, however please note the Stadium grounds become pedestrian-only for 90 minutes before a match, and so vehicle movement is prohibited except for emergency services until 45 minutes after the final whistle or crowds are cleared from the grounds.

89Bus is a popular way to reach Ibrox Stadium because of its connections with multiple routes:

🚆 Train

Ibrox Stadium can be reached via Glasgow Subway (Inner or Outer Circle. Get off at Ibrox station, which is 300 m (4 min) walk to the venue.

📍 Where To Stay

Trendy travellers will want to set their sights on the leafy West End, an area home to some of the city's hippest bars, restaurants, and hotels, in addition to Kelvingrove Park. Up-and-coming Kelvinbridge has even been named one of the coolest neighbourhoods in Britain.

The city centre district is crisscrossed by a grid system, making it easy to navigate and helping it to be arguably the best place to stay in Glasgow for both sightseers and shoppers. George Square is the city's crown jewel, and the surrounding streets are filled with endless opportunities for retail therapy, dining venues, international hotel brands, and upscale boutique lodging.

The East End isn't as polished as the West End and city centre, but it's here where you will find gorgeous Glasgow Green and the Tennent's Brewery. The East End is a great place to stay for those who are on a budget but still want to be close to the action and for those attending a game at nearby Celtic Park.

The South Side of the city is the perfect place to stay if you're planning on seeing a Rangers match, as the Cessnock district is home to Ibrox Stadium and a rather interesting range of architecture.

Ibrox Stadium is a football stadium located in Glasgow, Scotland. It is the home of Rangers FC.

📜 History

It opened in 1899 as Ibrox Park and was originally designed by Archibald Leitch, an architect who designed many of the UK’s most iconic football stadia. It was renamed in 1997 after the completion of almost 2 decades of major renovation – the club began redesigning and modernising the stadium in 1978.

It has a capacity of 50,817, and as the home of Rangers it regularly plays host not only to Scottish top-flight football but also UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League nights, where its fervent atmosphere can be heard at full force.

The stadium has also hosted Scotland’s international fixtures on occasion when Hampden Park is unavailable, and has also held rugby and boxing events over the years.

💂 Entry Gates

Entrances are located around the perimeter of the stadium. Please enter through the turnstile indicated by the number on your ticket.

🧑‍🦽 Disabled Facilities

Rangers Football Club’s current safety certificate permits 114 wheelchair fans and 114 attendants at each match.

68 of these spaces are located in the West Enclosure, 35 East Enclosure, 4 in the Broomloan and 7 within the North West Corner.

The 103 spaces in the West & East Enclosure are used by Rangers fans and are split into season ticket holders and Match to Match (M2M) members. The current ratio is 93 season ticket holders and 7 Match to Match places. The other 7 spaces are used for Club requirements.

The Match to Match scheme has been designed to encourage wheelchair-using Rangers fans to attend individual matches and thereby help ensure the most efficient use of the available spaces. Match to Match tickets for the entire season are allocated equally amongst members of the Wheelchair Match to Match Scheme.

The 7 spaces in the North West Corner are utilised by away fans, with the exception of Celtic who utilises the 4 seats in the Broomloan subject to availability. The allocation of these spaces is controlled by the away club.

Disabled toilets are situated close to each of the main function suites throughout the stadium.

Service lifts are available in Main Stand, with nearby access to both the Thornton and Cooper Suites as well as the Club Deck boxes. Dimensions of the lifts are 2.4 m x 2 m x 2.17 m. If you require a trolley to be on hand when you arrive at the stadium, please advise the club in advance so that this can be waiting for you.
