Rangers FC – occasionally referred to as Glasgow Rangers outside the UK – are a Scottish professional football club that ply their trade in the Scottish Premiership. They play their home games at Ibrox Stadium.
📜 Rangers History
Rangers were formed in 1872 by 4 teenage boys – Peter Campbell, William McBeath, and brothers Peter and Moses McNeil. From those humble beginnings, Rangers are now one of the world's most successful teams in terms of trophies won with an incredible number of Scottish League titles, Scottish Cups, and Scottish League Cups accumulated over the years.
Rangers also won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1972, and finished as runners-up in the UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League in 2008 and 2022.
Along with Celtic, they are one of the only teams in world football to win more than 100 trophies in their history.
A financial crisis saw the club liquidated and resurrected as a 4th-tier outfit in 2012; they were back in the top-flight by 2016 and in 2021 won their first league title in 10 years, going unbeaten throughout the campaign and ending bitter rivals Celtic's hopes of achieving 10 titles in a row.
