Fantastic experience. Very well organized
Superb!
Everything was great!
worst organisation ever! All 4 matches were cancelled after not even the first match was completed because of rain and they just offer a ticket for next year for a specific day! You can't even go the next day to watch the matches you have missed!
Unforgetable
A nightmare to get to, trains totally rammed. The venue is so busy and you don’t see the ‘magnificent views’ at the venue as all you see is scaffolding for the seating and big blue plastic screening everywhere. Food selection is limited and not great, it’s a place to be seen at, as opposed to tennis. Far too crowded, not a lot of space to relax and unwind, no protection from the sunshine and all in all i’d never return.
Had a great time. Things that could be improved: better signage for the exit (was hard to find for a first timer), water fountain available for drinking since they took away the caps for our water bottles, and clearer information on the website for locating the free shuttle at the train station. (It was across the street and we did not know that) We would definitely go again.
Yes, the best tournaments in all the organizational bodies are directed by the players, and I invite everyone to go and watch this tournament because it is one of the best and I like it very much.
I saw tennis during my life
Arrived slightly late for event. Disabled parking not available; we’re told to go to parking lot for shuttle (really for someone with a disability; might be against the disabilities act!) offered to Valet park, but did not tell us the cost, We we’re surprised at $50/day which is ridiculously high! We were not informed ahead of time about the bag size requirement and/or clear plastic bags only. We had to go search for such clear plastic bags. Terrible Fan/customer service. Outrageous food and drink prices. How about adding outdoor heaters around the food/drink areas? But it was a great tennis tournament overall.
This was a second visit to the tournament in Estoril. The quality of the field as an early clay court competition was good. The administration of access to the main stadium leaves plenty to be desired. There would seem to be an obsession not to permit access to seats until 20/25 mins prior to the published time of the first match, last year it was very much more relaxed, bureaucracy for bureaucracy's sake!!
On exit not all the access corridors are open under the temporary stands, which makes for a generally claustrophobic atmosphere as all departures are channeled via the one available passageway, totally needless strictures.
Booking was ok but the online information was primarily in Portuguese so I was guessing many of the ticket purchasing tasks based on the online menu.
Easy to get to by taxi 6 euros from cascais. Pleasant place not crowded. Food not expensive.
Handicap people should not have to climb 4 flights of stairs to have to get a seat.
The event is great. My only negative is food and drinks are way over priced
We attended the first three days, then spent part of two more days exploring Charleston/Mt. Pleasant. Love the area, love the venue and stadium, and love Mt.Pleasant/Daniel Island. No bad seats for tennis, easy in and out. Recommend free parking and shuttle service or short walk, and recommend checking out the restaurants right there around the Stadium - plenty to choose from. Our only real complaint is there were not enough chairs and tables/high tops in the central covered food court . . . such a curious organizer's decision, since hanging out there was a great option for many who were hot in the stadium sun or wanted to visit with friends while watcing the matches. With some additional, larger screen TV's as well, this is where people would spend far more, on food, drink and gear, rather than while in the stands watching. Otherwise, a great time, and we'll definitely be back in 2024.
Great experience, small crowds, lots of tennis!
Great time at the Millenium Estoril Tennis Open, however room for improvement in the organisation of the event. There were less bathrooms than previous years, no idea why. The bathrooms in the vicinity of the food truck area were not there and these were the good ones! Why take them away. There only a few working toilets and no mirror.
Also different to previous years there was no way to cross sides of the stadium without going all the way around through the permanent structure below. In previous years there was an outside lane under the stadium where we could cross. It was disappointing as walking all the way around was very difficult, long and hot with the crowds. There were no signs below this area telling us which side was which section so had to find out the hard way..
Great being free to attend. Sadly rain damaged the tennis courts, especially centre court. But two days later & it was playable again. Well done to the maintenance crew who worked very hard.
Apart from the day of rained off tennis, an excellent experience
