The event is great. My only negative is food and drinks are way over priced
We attended the first three days, then spent part of two more days exploring Charleston/Mt. Pleasant. Love the area, love the venue and stadium, and love Mt.Pleasant/Daniel Island. No bad seats for tennis, easy in and out. Recommend free parking and shuttle service or short walk, and recommend checking out the restaurants right there around the Stadium - plenty to choose from. Our only real complaint is there were not enough chairs and tables/high tops in the central covered food court . . . such a curious organizer's decision, since hanging out there was a great option for many who were hot in the stadium sun or wanted to visit with friends while watcing the matches. With some additional, larger screen TV's as well, this is where people would spend far more, on food, drink and gear, rather than while in the stands watching. Otherwise, a great time, and we'll definitely be back in 2024.
Great experience, small crowds, lots of tennis!
Great time at the Millenium Estoril Tennis Open, however room for improvement in the organisation of the event. There were less bathrooms than previous years, no idea why. The bathrooms in the vicinity of the food truck area were not there and these were the good ones! Why take them away. There only a few working toilets and no mirror.
Also different to previous years there was no way to cross sides of the stadium without going all the way around through the permanent structure below. In previous years there was an outside lane under the stadium where we could cross. It was disappointing as walking all the way around was very difficult, long and hot with the crowds. There were no signs below this area telling us which side was which section so had to find out the hard way..
Great being free to attend. Sadly rain damaged the tennis courts, especially centre court. But two days later & it was playable again. Well done to the maintenance crew who worked very hard.
Apart from the day of rained off tennis, an excellent experience
A superbly run yet relaxed tournament.
Vale a Pena! They opened at 11 and the first match was at 12, so get your food and beverages first then get to your seat because once the match starts there are queues to get in and they only let you go in during breaks in the action. The second match started only 30 minutes after the first so again after going out for a drink I had to wait in line to get back in. The doubles were the best, we had assigned seats for the two singles matches, but then we just ran right into the doubles match which anyone could sit anywhere it seemed. There are no bad seats. We had great view. It was very sunny I had to buy a hat. Also bring a 1.5 liter water botttle, you will need it. There was free parking and a shuttle bus at the nearby Autódromo and that was quick, efficient and convenient. Lots of food vendors including a Vegan Pad THai, Also Leitão and Bifanas as would be expected.
I only found one set of bathrooms, one of which was out of paper. I do think they need more of them or at least more signs to lead you to the others. There was a lot of staff and people to answer your questions or help you find your seat.
Purchased box seats in order to watch round 3 men’s and women’s singles - one player defaulted and match canceled and I am now going to be refunded the $800 spent on my 4 tickets. Their response is unacceptable and I would recommend get a day pass only - save your money. Shame in organizers
So much fun. Close up and personal…
I purchased 4 tickets from the United States on the koobit website when they became available for the 2023 Dubai Tennis Championships and it could not have been easier. Immediately after my purchase I received confirmation and electronic tickets came to my email to print for the tournament.
My wife and I took this trip primarily to watch Dubai open- semi finals and final. Memorable visit. All well organised and one could even get autographs from the finalists, not something you can get in other tournaments.
The Tennis Tournament was excellent. The grounds were beautiful and the tennis was exceptional. We had a wonderful time.
Overall this was great, if more players could come & sign autographs during non match hours this would motivate more kids
Thoroughly enjoyed our first tennis tournament experience, the whole set up at the Dubai duty free stadium is perfect, max 5000 in the grandstand court. For first timers, think about how hot it’s going to be for the afternoon games and make sure you cover up as there is no shade, obviously you can leave the grandstand at times. Food outlets are fabulous
Excellent tournament, the strongest participants, a pleasant atmosphere! But we had a nuance, we forgot our tickets to Russia, and could not get to the stadium, although we had copies and a receipt for buying tickets at the box office, but the organizers did not solve the problem!!! We had to buy new tickets!!!
Fantastic event!
Hi - I bought my ticket for the final, cat Upper A (worth QAR 100). I had to wait in the queue for an hour and when I got to enter, I did not find a seat and I was seated on the floor because there were no empty seats!!!! I wonder why you sell and / or give out free tickets over the capacity of the stadium. This is not fair, I got to buy the ticket and couldn’t wasted more than half of the game and couldn’t be seated properly. I am claiming for a reimbursement.
Regards,
Meriem
What a week! Came from London for this tournament. Big Andy Murray fan. Watched all his 5 matches. The tickets are so well priced! The venue is beautiful. Also watched Dan Evans on outside court (no extra charge).
I’ve read that all the players love this tournament too.
Just a great experience. Will be back next year!
Amazing tournament, however, facilities could be better (WC) and could have much more activities and bigger food area.
