The Qatar TotalEnergies Open is an annual women's tennis tournament held in Doha, Qatar. The event was founded in 2001 and, despite a 2 year break between 2009-2010, has established itself as a prominent WTA event which attracts a top-class field of players every year. In something of a unique format point, the tournament previously alternated annually between a WTA 500 and WTA 1000 event, swapping its tour-level status with the neighbouring Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. However, since 2024, TotalEnergies Open has remained a WTA 1000 competition.
Some of the past winners of the Qatar TotalEnergies Open include Martina Hingis, Monica Seles, Maria Sharapova, Justine Henin, Victoria Azarenka, Simona Halep, and Iga Świątek – all of whom have held the number 1 WTA singles ranking!
The tournament's brother event, the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, usually takes place the following week.
