The Portland Classic is a professional women’s golf event, part of the LPGA Tour. It was established in 1972 at the Portland Ladies Classic and has been known by many names over the years. It became a 72-hole event in 2013, having been a 54-hole tournament for much of its history and even a team event between 1977 and 1982.
It is the longest running tournament on the LPGA Tour that isn’t a major, and it has raised more than $19 million for local charities since it began. Brooke Henderson made history in 2015 when she Monday-qualified for the competition and then went onto win it by 8 shots, at the age of just 17.
