



The capital of Queensland, Brisbane, is built along the Brisbane River which dominates much of the city. Surrounded by hills and near to the beautiful Gold and Sunshine coasts, this city has a little bit of everything to offer; shopping, cycling, boating, and hiking are all within easy reach. A keen sporting city that has hosted the Commonwealth games and Rugby World Cup matches, alongside the ever-popular sport of cricket.
Brisbane Airport (BNE) is the third busiest in Australia and has numerous international and domestic flights every day. Travelling into the city is easy with the Airtrain and car taking around 20 minutes. Want to take a taxi? Brisbane Airport is one of the first to offer the Uber RideShare scheme so you can share the journey with another traveller. The airport is also served by Con-X-ion buses – tickets can be purchased in the terminal on arrival.
As a river city, Brisbane is also accessible by boat. Most cruise ships dock at the Portside Wharf, which has its own hub of accommodation and restaurants, but is easily accessible by train. A new port facility has been built on the Northshore.
For long-distance domestic travel, Roma Street train station and coach terminal provide long-haul connections to cities throughout Australia. Keep in mind that Australia is big so check travel times to far away cities!
