📍 Where To Stay

Wellington Central, the heart of the CBD, is ideal for those who value convenience above all else. It’s within a few minutes walk from Wellington Station, Lambton Quay shopping street, the cable car, and some of the city’s best bars and restaurants.

Although just a short walk from Wellington’s CBD, Thorndon is considered a quiet and historic neighbourhood tucked on the far end of the waterfront near Sky Stadium and Wellington Station.

Te Aro, located just 1 kilometre away from Lambton Quay, is considered the city’s coolest neighbourhood. It offers plenty of quirky bars and clubs for those who want to experience the city’s nightlife.

Oriental Bay and Mount Victoria, on the edge of Wellington waterfront, are quieter and more wholesome neighbourhoods for families to enjoy, with beaches and parks nearby.

To truly make the most of the scenery that Wellington has to offer, there’s nowhere more perfect to stay than Kelburn. It may come with a high price tag, but the views over the entire harbour are totally worth it.

If you have a car available, or don’t mind taking public transport, there’s plenty more beautiful and peaceful neighbourhoods to stay in around Evans Bay, on the far side of Mount Victoria.

TSB Arena is an indoor sports venue in Wellington, New Zealand.

📜 History

The arena was originally opened in 1995, with a capacity of 3,635. An upgrade and expansion project was carried out in 2005 which raised the capacity to the current level of 5,655. The venue used to be known as the Queens Wharf Events Centre.

Central Pulse netball team of the ANZ Premiership play their home games at TSB Arena, and it is also used for the Century City Saints and New Zealand Breakers basketball teams.

Music performances, exhibitions, and conventions are held at the arena as well as sporting events.
