The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans. The Saints compete in the NFL's NFC South division, and play their home games at the Caesars Superdome.
New Orleans Saints History
The Saints first joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1967. They are named after the jazz music heritage of New Orleans and the spiritual hymn "When the Saints Go Marching In". Over their first few decades, the Saints were among the NFL's least successful franchises, and had to wait until the year 2000 for their first playoff victory. Since then, however, the franchise has been a force in the NFC South, winning their first Super Bowl in 2010.
The Saints team colors are black, white, and gold, and their helmets sport a modern fleur-de-lis – an emblem traditionally used by French monarchy that can also be found on the flag of New Orleans.
