Visiting Mexico City
Established by the Spanish in the 1500’s, Mexico City has grown to become the largest and most populated city in North America. It’s filled with remarkable monuments that nod to its colonial heritage including the Catedral Metropolitana and the Palacio Nacionale. However, the city was part of an Aztec empire long before the Spanish arrived, remnants of which can still be seen today at Templo Mayor and the Teotihuacan pyramids. There are over 150 museums throughout the city that allow you to delve even further into its colourful past, but with so many delicious regional dishes to delve into too, there may not be time. This city isn’t just for history buffs though – it’s for anyone and everyone, which is why its most popular neighbourhoods are filled with artists, bohemians, and hipsters.
