The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The Rams compete in the NFL's NFC West division, and play their home games at SoFi Stadium.
Los Angeles Rams History
Founded in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams, the team moved to Los Angeles in 1946, becoming the first NFL team on the West Coast. This relocation marked a significant moment in NFL history, contributing to the league's national expansion.
During their early years in Los Angeles, the Rams became known for their high-powered offense, and in 1980, the team reached its first Super Bowl, losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Rams moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1995 and won Super Bowl XXXIV in the year 2000, earning the moniker "The Greatest Show on Turf" due to their explosive style of play. After an unsuccessful Super Bowl appearance in 2002 and a decade without further success, the team moved back to LA in 2016. Since then, the Rams have made 2 more Super Bowl appearances – losing to the New England Patriots in 2019, before defeating the Cincinnati Bengals in 2022.
