Visiting Verona
The northern Italian city of Verona is an idyllic Italian city to the east of Lake Garda and south of the Dolomites, two of the country’s most scenic spots. Even the city itself is so dreamy it inspired Shakespeare, history’s most romantic writer, to create the greatest love story ever told — Romeo and Juliette. And as you stroll past the elegant plazas, palaces, bridges, and even Juliette’s balcony in the city’s Renaissance-era centre, it’s easy to see why. In fact, there are so many stories to be told of this ancient city, the oldest of which dates back to the 1st century when the Romans built the astounding Verona Arena which still stands intact today.
