Visiting Galway
Set on the rugged and dramatic Wild Atlantic Way on Ireland’s west coast, Galway is thought of as the most Irish city in Ireland. After all, nowhere else will you find such authentic and rich Irish culture. While charming and cheerful 19th-century streets of the West End are filled with true Irish pubs and restaurants serving Irish stew, the sounds of traditional Irish folk music fill the medieval streets of the Latin Quarter as buskers sing their woeful hearts out. There’s nothing better to do in Galway than browse local boutiques and explore historic landmarks like Lynch’s Castle and the Spanish Arch as you listen to the distant melodies. Beyond the city lies some of the nation’s most impressive spectacles of nature from the towering Cliffs of Moher along the coast to the vast and wild Connemara National Park as you explore further inland.
