Indiana Fever, also known simply as the Fever, are a professional women's basketball team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. They play in the Eastern Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association and they share their home venue, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, with their NBA counterparts, the Indiana Pacers.
Indiana Fever History
The Fever were founded in 1999 after the state of Indiana was awarded an expansion franchise to coincide with the opening of the Fieldhouse, and they began playing the following year.
Indiana's most successful period came between 2009 and 2015, when they won 3 Eastern Conference titles and won their first WNBA Championship in 2012.
However, such success has been harder to come by in recent years; after reaching the playoffs for 12 consecutive campaigns between 2005 and 2016 the Fever have struggled to reach the post-season competition multiple seasons running.
