Hamburger Sport-Verein e.V., commonly referred to as Hamburger SV or simply HSV, is a historic German football club based in Hamburg, Germany. Founded on 29 September 1887, it is one of the oldest football clubs in Germany. Known by nicknames such as 'Die Rothosen', 'Der Dino', and 'Hamburg', the club has a rich history in German football. HSV's home matches are played at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg. HSV play in the upper tiers of German football - the club was a founding member of the Bundesliga and won the league 6 times before being relegated from the Bundesliga for the first time in their history in 2018.
