Great job, Jakarta! This was my third attendance at an Artistic Gymnastics World Championships (Brisbane 1994, Melbourne 2005 were the others, guess which I live in!) and it was very professionally done. I really liked how you were not allocated a specific seat you had to stay in so could move around to get a better view of an apparatus, especially during the apparatus finals. All stadium staff were wonderful, the food in the VIP lounge was very nice, the equipment on the podium was pristine and set up perfectly. There didn't seem to be a glitch in any of the proceedings. I have extensive experience of varying locations in Indonesia so, to be honest, I'd had a few little doubts about how this was going to go compared to other World Championships but they really rocked it and it was a great experience.
Professional and friendly
Not enough attention given to the bottom players. Difference between top and bottom players too big to bridge so shame that only top ones got to ply.
Great event and great gymnastics, but it would be good it the athlete's came out to meet he fans at the end. There was a lot of disappointed children waiting to meet their favourite gymnasts. Some of the did come out and were met with really happy faces but there were a lot which didn't.
Excellent gymnastics but expensive food and only one non-fast-food outlet. Prohibited from bringing packed lunch in. (Koobit makes it difficult to opt out of unwanted marketing cookies!)
Es war groĂŸartig, super Wettbewerbe, tolle KĂ¼ren, tolles Publikum - es war ein rundum schönes Erlebnis - DANKE Budapest, DANKE den Sportlerinnen und allen internationalen Teams!!!!
It was great, super competitions, great routines, great audience - it was an all-round wonderful experience - THANK YOU Budapest, THANK YOU to the athletes and all the international teams!!!!
The organization was great! The arena is beautiful and spacious, there were many shopping spots for various products and many employees and volunteers ready to help you at any moment. Just perfect!
Bad competition arena
Had a fantastic time, went to watch Grace Davies our granddaughter compete.
The gymnastics itself was fabulous.
The food choices in the venue were really limited - this is an arena and I expected far more choice - pizza, burger etc.
Disappointed that the British gymnastics merch was so limited at the venue.
It wasn’t clear there were several pop up shops selling leotards and hoodies in other nearby buildings. My kids wanted hoodies but they had sold out by the time we heard about the pop ups.
Well organised. Maybe invest in more seating if possinle
Excellent stage prep and fantastic lighting. Interesting commentary. Lovely afterparty. Good choice of music. Fun event.
Exciting, though it took a while to understand what was going on. Friendly staff. Poor choice of food but nice oranges.
The arena is very big, there are many toilets, so you don't usually have to wait long. But the competition was terribly slow, with lots of delays. I guess that was the judges fault, but I don't know whether the organization had something to do with it.
It was amazing! The atmosphere was great all the time, Bulgarian are such a great hosts.
Had a fantastic time watching the artistic gymnastics! We saw men's vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bar, and women's floor and balance beam. It was easy to get into the venue, and the Birmingham 2022 volunteers were incredibly friendly and helpful, and then the atmosphere inside the arena was brilliant. Sadly, food and drink was pricey - even for a sports event - but you were allowed to take homemade food in with you, so this wasn't a huge issue. Overall, the gymnastics was amazing, and we even got to see Brummie Joe Fraser get a gold!
I found it incredibly interesting, people are taking away from how GOOD they were! However, there was a lot of dancing which was not ideal.
Please read all the one star reviews before you pay a crazy price for a dance/light show. Paid close to 400 for two tickets and wanted to love this show. No it’s poorly produced and the level of gymnastics was sad. Please save your money.
First of all, I am proud of what these talented woman have accomplished for themselves, their teams, and their country. They are incredible athletes and tough competitors! Unfortunately, the show didn't have that same level of performance. The first half of the show was mostly dancing. Too much hip swaying, arms swinging, and gymnasts going every which way. I didn't want to see "dancing" for Gold! If you are going to perform dance routines have some precision with sharp, synchronized movements.
The second half was better with more gymnastics skills being performed, but where was the vault? Being able to see the gymnasts on bars and beam from, Row A, where I was seated was difficult. Because of people seated on the floor I couldn't see anything that was being performed down on the floor and only above the knees when they were standing. No one should have been seated on the floor level with the floor exercise mat! So, I appreciated the big screen except visual effects were added, and a lot of times you couldn't even see what the gymnasts were performing. Sorry, but I was very disappointed, not in the gymnasts themselves, but in the people who produced this show. I would like my money back!
Just came back from the show in Pittsburgh and it was AMAZING! Did you people really think they were going to be doing elite moves all fricking night? This was SO MUCH FUN! We went with our gymnastics club and we knew what we were and weren't getting. Bars sloppy? Because their toes weren't pointed and they didn't do the fancy dismounts you've come to expect on NBC? Do you know the kind of energy you need to pull this off for a 2-hour show? Did you think you were going to the Olympics? LOL this was so amazing! If you love gymnastics and you want to go out and enjoy music, dancing, and yes lots of amazing but not Olympic level gymnastics, then get up and go! We loved it!!!
