Oakdale doesn't measure up to the other great courses the Open has been to.....it was awful this year
I cannot believe we were subject to amateur hour at Oakdale with the disorganization.... the venue was simply too small and hard to access.... please don't go back again...we deserve better
Oakdale is simply not up to hosting a PGA Tour Event....bush league choice of a venue
We as loyal golf fans deserve better than this miserable venue
Concessions awful, parking and access awful...course awful.... what a horribly run Open and venue
Why with all our great courses and venues did you have to choose this one at Oakdale...too small, terribly organized and run.... awful
We all hated the event....Golf Canada missed the mark choosing Oakdale....what a waste of time and money...bought weekend tickets and skipped 2 days, enough said of how bad Oakdale was
So looking forward to Hamilton GC next year to correct the absolutely stupid choice of Oakdale this year.... what a bad Open from an organization, venue and course choice...
The experience was very good. Excellent field of golfers. Bought the week pass. Although I had no trouble parking, extra lots would be helpful. The course was great. I wish they would ban smoking as it was bothersome even outdoors. Yes, I could have moved and did, but why should I?
My husband and I and 4 friends travelled to the Open this year as we do every year, so look forward to it... but this year... the venue was simply abysmal and not even Nick Taylor breaking the Canadian drought could overcome what the six of us agreed was a most dismal open and a mistake of a venue
My son and I attended the AmFam tournament on Sunday. We both thought everything was well planned and executed. Great event!
Simply the worst Canadian Open venue ever...Oakdale is an awful venue for our Open Championship....
Why with such a great story in Nick Taylor did it have to take place in an awful venue, with the immense disorganization.... a great story with Nick and a horrible venue and Open otherwise...the worst I've been to
Concession stands throughout the course were the slowest and most poorly run I've ever experienced.
Went Friday, had 2 tickets as result of my price plus card, however when I tried retrieving tickets on my phone they were no where to be found. Ticket sales lady was great, asked us to sign and include our email, gave us 2 tickets. Walking the area where sponsors were was nice, various free samples was a nice touch. Access to see players and trails roped off for walking course was well planned out. Parking was easy, free was nice. Only negative was when we bought a few hot dogs, guessing around 5 -6 hole, they were terrible, prices were fine.
Looking forward to next year.
thank you Nick Taylor for salvaging what was a horrible Open...choice of venue and organization a disaster.... I look forward to this event all year but this one ....well forget this choice of Oakdale...brutal set up organization and please never go there again ..... and a lame field...
With all the great courses in Canada to choose from for our national Open, why Oakdale, what an awful venue and awful open experience.... been to several and this was the worst venue I've ever been to....
I've been attending Canadian Opens for years all over our country and this was by far and away the worst course and most disorganized poorly run of them all...never would I ever attend at this venue again...disgusting.... only the end with Nick Taylor made it worthwhile...otherwise a disaster...shame on you golf canada for selecting such an awful venue
Horrible event organization...the course too easy for the pros.... long lines, hard to get to the course....would never attend an event at this course ever again... horrible for our national open, bad choice by Golf Canada to go to this venue and to think they're going back again, omg....I won't attend....
Very shocked and disappointed. Drove for 90 minutes to the public parking lot. Arrived to find mayhem. A huge lineup to get into the lot only to find out that’s it was full. No other lots available. Was told to monitor social media to get updates on how they were going to handle the problem. Easier said than done. Very poorly organized especially for a National Open.
