Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona ("Royal Spanish Sports Club of Barcelona") - though more commonly referred to simply as Espanyol - is a professional Spanish football club based in Barcelona. Espanyol plays home games at RCDE Stadium.
Founded in October 1900, the club has previously been known as Sociedad Española de Football, Club Español de Fútbol, Club Deportivo Español, Real Club Deportivo Español, and Club Esportiu Espanyol. The club has won the Copa del Rey on several occasions and reached the UEFA Cup final in 1988 and 2007. At the end of the 2022-23 season, the club was relegated to the country's second tier.
