The CPKC Women's Open is a professional women's golf event, the national championship of Canada. It has boasted a storied history since it was founded in 1973, having been one of the majors of women's golf from 1979 to 2000, and it remains a key stop on the LPGA Tour.
It became the site of LPGA Tour history in 2012, when a then-amateur Lydia Ko won the event at the age of just 15 years and 4 months, surpassing Lexi Thompson as the LPGA's youngest ever winner. She won the event again the following year, still younger than Thompson was when she set the previous record at 16 years and 7 months.
In 2018, Brooke Henderson ended a 45-year wait for another Canadian winner – it had not been won by a home player since Jocelyne Bourassa won the inaugural event.
