The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio. They compete in the NFL's AFC North division, and play their home games at Huntington Bank Field.
Cleveland Browns History
Known for their distinctive brown uniforms, the Cleveland Browns were founded in 1946 and joined the NFL in 1950. The team was named after its first head coach, Paul Brown, a legendary figure in American football.
In 1996, the Browns relocated to Baltimore and became the Ravens, but due to legal actions and fan outcry, the franchise was reactivated in Cleveland in 1999 as an expansion team with new ownership. From 2003–2019, the Browns endured a 17-season playoff drought, which finally ended with a playoff berth in 2020. They are one of 4 teams to have never appeared in a Super Bowl, but maintain one of the NFL's most loyal followings.
