Santiago Centro is the tourist hub where the biggest chain hotels are located, along with the city’s most beloved landmarks and attractions including the Plaza de Armas and Mercado Central. From here, you can easily explore the rest of the city on foot too.
Lastarria, immediately east of the city centre surrounding San Lucia Hill, is a bohemian hotspot with trendy boutique hotels and plenty of cool bars awaiting to offer an exciting night out. Alternatively, head east of the centre to Providencia, a refined and stylish neighbourhood far from the madding crowds, known for its chic high-end hotels, shops, and restaurants. Shoppers will delight in having the Costanera Center, the country’s biggest shopping mall, on their doorstep.
However, tucked alongside the municipal park is Vitacura, the city’s most affluent and neighbourhood. Those with cash to splash will revel in its ultra-luxury hotels, award-winning restaurants, and cosmopolitan rooftop bars.
Families may prefer the quietude of Las Condes, the east Santiago neighbourhood bordering a vast natural park with trails and waterfalls. Whilst the city centre can be reached in a matter of minutes via the metro, everything the park has to offer is right at your feet.
Santiago is connected via metro, making it very easy to explore the city no matter where you choose to stay.
