The Credit One Charleston Open, previously known as the Volvo Open, is the largest women's only tennis tournament in North America, and part of the WTA 500 tour. It is an outdoor tournament, played on a rare green clay surface.
The event was founded in 1973 as the Family Circle Cup, and quickly achieved some major milestones in women's professional tennis, becoming the first women's tennis event to offer $100,000 in prize money, and be broadcast on network television. After 28 years at its original home in Hilton Head, South Carolina, the tournament moved in 2001 to the Family Circle Tennis Center in Charleston, a short hop up the Eastern Seaboard, where it is still held today. In 2015, Volvo became the title sponsor and the event was renamed the Volvo Car Open; the event was renamed again in preparation for the 2022 edition, becoming the Credit One Charleston Open. In 2022, the Family Circle Tennis Center's newly-renovated Credit One Stadium hosted its first-ever Charleston Open matches.
Charleston Open Tickets
All tournament dates are comprised of 2 sessions (day and night), with the exception of the qualifying days and the final weekend, which are each comprised of 1 session only per day.
Tickets for the Charleston Open are currently available to purchase in the following types:
- Single Session Tickets – seat for 1 session on 1 date; available in the 200 and 300 Levels of Credit One Stadium
- Tournament Long Packages – same reserved seat for all tournament sessions; available in the 100 and 200 Levels
- Multi-Day Packages – same reserved seat for all sessions across 3 or 4 consecutive tournament days; available in the 200 Level
Tickets for the qualifying days are available in General Admission (300 Level) seating only; there are however no Stadium matches on these dates, so General Admission tickets serve as grounds passes only.
