Caulfield Cup is a race meeting for thoroughbred racehorses that takes place at Caulfield Racecourse in Caulfield south of Melbourne, Australia. It is the racecourse's most prestigious meeting.

The meeting - part of the annual Carnival in October, taking place on 4 days across several weeks - is the ideal excuse to visit the beautiful home of the Melbourne Racing Club to celebrate a spectacular carnival of Australian racing at "The Heath". Gather your friends and family members to cheer on the runners and riders on the track and delight in all of the entertainment, food, and fun off of it!

Caulfield Racecourse is separated into 2 main areas with a general admission zone and the Members' Reserve. To access the latter, racegoers need to be members of the Melbourne Racing Club. For more information, please see here.

A general admission ticket entitles the holder entry to the majority of racecourse areas but not those that are Members Only.

There's also a range of hospitality options available for those wishing to make their raceday experience extra special!

The date of this event is provisional and subject to final confirmation by the organiser. Usually provisional dates do not change but this cannot be guaranteed. If the date of the event does change, it will not affect the validity of any viewing tickets you purchase for the event. If possible, we recommend booking any accommodation and travel/flights on a flexible basis or waiting until the event date is confirmed.

🧒 Child Tickets

Children aged 17 years old and younger can attend this event free of charge and do not require a ticket for entry. All racegoers aged under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult upon entry into the racecourse.

👨‍🎓 Student Tickets

There are discounted concession ticket available for full-time students with a valid student ID.

🧓 Senior Tickets

There are discounted concession ticket available for pensioners, veteran affairs, and TPI.

👨‍🦽 Disabled Tickets

The disabled viewing area is available on the Promenade Level of the Rupert Clarke Grandstand at the rear of the grandstand seating.

There are discounted concession tickets available for valid Personal Treatment Entitlement Card holders and valid Healthcare Card holders. Disabled racegoers requiring the assistance of a carer should have a Companion Card. The racegoer with a disability is still required to pay for his or her own entry. They will be entitled to a concession ticket if they have the appropriate concession identification. On presentation of the Companion Card, the holder will be admitted into the course free of charge (no ticket will be issued). The meeting lasts over a couple of months and has 4 key days of racing action. On the first Saturday, the Caulfield Guineas is the feature race. On the second Saturday, the Caulfield Cup is the feature race and the biggest event of the festival. On the November Saturday, the Thousand Guineas is the feature race. The final day is Caulfield Spring Finale in late November.

Due to its urban location, Caulfield Racecourse is easily accessed by a number of modes of transport. There are good road links and public parking is available at the venue, so driving is a great way to get there. Caulfield Racecourse is also served by a train station and public bus routes stop nearby for those wishing to use public transportation.

🅿️ Parking

Public parking is available in Centre Car Park (enter via the roundabout on the corner of Kambrook Road and Glen Eira Road).

Members’ parking is available in Members’ Centre Car Park (enter via the roundabout on the corner of Kambrook Road and Glen Eira Road) and Guineas Car Park (via Gate 20, Normanby Road).

Make sure you have your Members’ Car Park Pass with you. All car parks are alcohol-free zones. Please contact the racecourse on 1300 GO RACE (46 7223) if you have any questions about parking.

Bus is a popular way to reach Caulfield Racecourse because of its connections with multiple routes:

624 – Caulfield Racecourse/Station St stop · 80 m (1 min) walk
624 – Eskdale Rd/Kambrook Rd stop · 500 m (6 min) walk
623 – Kambrook Rd/Glen Eira Rd stop · 1.0 km (12 min) walk

🚆 Train

Caulfield Racecourse is served by Caulfield Train Station which is just a 140 m (2 min) walk to the course. The station links to central Melbourne (from Bairnsdale or Traralgon), Cranbourne, Frankston, Pakenham.

You can also reach the racecourse via tram line 3/3a which stops at Caulfield Railway Sation/Derby Rd #57 which is a 500 m (6 min) walk to the course.
