Bristol City are an English football club who typically play in the EFL Championship. They have played their home games at Ashton Gate since 1904, and their nicknames include the Robins and the Cider Army.
📜 Bristol City History
The Robins were founded as Bristol South End in 1894, changing their name 3 years later when they became professional upon admission to the Southern League.
Bristol City joined the Football League in 1901 and in 1906 they achieved promotion to the First Division, becoming the first team in Football League history to win 30 matches in a 38-game season in the process. The Robins reached their first and only FA Cup final in 1909, where they were defeated by Manchester United.
The club were relegated in 1911 and spent the next 65 years outside the top flight, returning for a brief 4-year stint between 1976 and 1980. Success has been hard to come by in modern times, too, save for Football League Trophy wins in 1986, 2003, and 2015.
