The Beach Pro Tour is a beach volleyball competition consisting of events throughout the year held across the globe. It features the best players in the world and brings the beach lifestyle to fans by combining beach volleyball with an entertainment platform celebrating the history of the sport.
The competition is held at 3 levels: Elite16, Challenge, and Futures. The Elite16 format is the highest level and will feature the top 16 male and female teams. The Challenge level tournament is a feeder to the Elite16 level events and includes 24 teams, with players battling to earn ranking points. Futures is a feeder event to Challenge and allows cities to develop the sport in their countries.
The Beach Pro Tour replaces the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour as the annual beach volleyball circuit and it culminates in The Finals.
Formar & Scoring
The Beach Pro Tour is the annual international beach volleyball circuit featuring the best ranked athletes in the world, with competition to be held at 3 levels:
- Elite16 - the highest level of the Beach Pro Tour with each 4-day event hosting 16 teams per gender with 32 matches per gender. The first phase has 4 pools of 4 teams each with the top 2 from each pool advancing. The second phase is an 8-team single elimination bracket (quarterfinals, semifinals, bronze medal match, final)
- Challenge - a feeder to the Elite16 level events for ranking points with each 4 or 5-day event hosting 24 teams per gender with 40 matches per gender. The first phase has 6 pools of 4 teams each in modified pool play. The second phase is a single elimination bracket
- Futures - a feeder to the Challenge level events for ranking points with each 4 or 5-day event hosting 16 teams per gender with 28 matches per gender. The first phase has 4 pools of 4 teams each in modified pool play. The second phase is a single elimination bracket
Each year, the competition culminates with The Finals; the ultimate event closing the year and featuring the best 10 qualified teams.
