Great competition from the world’s best
+ Fantastic air con.
+ high quality of the Badminton
+ plenty of staff available to help
- no seats allocated on the first 3 days
- extremely limited menu in the one cafe
- extremely difficult to buy tickets outside Japan
- tickets most expensive we have come across (and we have been all over the world)
- premium seats had a restricted view (only 50% of the court was visible due to advertising hoardings, scoring monitors, tv cameras, the referees/medical staff desk and the umpires chair)
- permanent seating was unsuitable for this event as it was too far away from the courts
- no public wi-fi at the event
- lots of concrete steps inside and outside the venue ( no escalators no lifts)
- absolutely no consideration for any foreign visitors to attend
- no signage for visitors to find their entrance
The atmosphere and activities was great! I came from Thailand and I’m sure I’ll be here again next year
Great opportunity to see the big name players up close and in action since it was upgraded from super 500 to 750 this year. The fans and cheering made the atmosphere that much more exciting and thrilling as we were kept on the edge of our seats by the intense and spectacular athletic performance presented by the players. The only gripe I have is that the money grubbing organizers, presumably Singapore Sports Council or the management or the indoor stadium is overly restrictive on the external food and drinks policy and so many people had to just dump their food that they did not even intend to consume within the premises.
Overall is ok, just there are many spectators never sit accordingly. It’s not right to sit on other’s seats and we have to request them to give back the seat to us! Some of them even denied to give back the seat and tell us to sit randomly!
What a fantastic event again. The staff at the arena were very efficient and friendly and had the process of getting thousands of people safely and quickly into the arena well practiced.
There was plenty of good clean food stalls, all reasonably priced.
The only negative was the family of Danish supporters sat behind me, who talked non stop throughout the games - why would you attend a sporting event if you had no intention of actually watching the matches?!
Loved the badminton but was shocked at the lack of any healthy food to buy at the venue - no salad bars or noodle bars - seemed bizarre especially at a sporting event! Also, there needs to be more drinking water fountains - I queued for 15 mins to fill up my water bottle - encouraging people to buy more plastic bottles - not good for the climate. the catering outlets needs to be re-thought.
Great day but food and drinks just so expensive
Keep it up this way especially the tickets purchase system and number seating.
It was great but if we compare it to other countries we would say not upto the mark. The passes thing was bad opening of gates was late. Lack of management but overall player security else was good just there was no player interaction which the public should have been able to do.
I had good time...however i felt that event can be more interesting and canbe coordinated well:
1. Online ticket (although this time it was free. They said the ticket will be available for next day play by one day ahead....but they changed that and they started issuing same day, once i reached at 4 pm after attending class from Noida, but they said tickets are finished, luckily when sb went from inside guard managed one. However seats were empty inside).
2. Display the rules and regulations about the being in hall in internet also. I took water bottle but they seized there in the entrance coz i was never aware of it.
3. Dont allow to eat inside. They were not disposing it properly. Proper guard for wastes checking must be kept so that cleanliness is maintained properly.
4. Allot the seat number as well in future which is better for spectators
5. Over all nicely coordinated. Thank you all event organizers.
Need to enter using main entrance but what is stated on ticket is side entrance & apparently side entrance only for reentrance. Although the seat is numbered but some people sat on my seat without guilty plus no staff check it properly. The funny part is most of people who buys ticket earlier gets back seat and I don’t know how they arrange it? Overall it’s just average and I hope organiser can give the audience bracelet to reenter the venue like other country did.
Event was very good and getting passes was very troublesome as the passes were issued on the same dat of event. First they said that the passes will be available at 9 AM but people were waiting outside the gate since 9 AM and they started giving passes at 11:30 AM only on the final day
such an absolute mess of passes distribution specially on finals day, and such massive site mismanagement of a such a prestigious tournament you had to be there to believe it. No water in toilets on Sat second half, and entire Sunday. No light even in Ladies toilet. There was almost a stampede for passes due to the mismanagement of event managers. And there were small kids and ladies who were standing for tickets on gates since 7 am till 12pm because there was absolute chaos of information flowing down from event managers about when passes will be available. All different times from 8 to 9.30 were being thrown around by various members of the event management team, and no one even showed up till 11 or so on Finals day. Hard to believe such a prestigious event can be mismanaged to such extent.
The price quite expensive
The event is very good and organizer doing well. One thing I want to comment is about sitting arrangement. Make sure people can see clearly the court even we pay the cheaper ticket. Especially at Upper A.. we paid RM100 for Final but we cannot see clearly the court & player, only see the steel & spotlight. hopefully after this you can improve the court setting so everyone can satisfied. Overall i am happy and enjoyed with the events. Hopefully can see you next year. Thanks
I hope one day all the player make them easyly to meet the fans to take a photo with them..
Very interesting pwrformance
The tickets for PMO2023 were way TOO EXPENSIVE. I’m trying not to be rude to the management of this event. I have to say, as a student, the price is very unfriendly. Is the management expecting only rich people/senior citizens going?? We just want to show support to our Malaysia players, as well as foreign players. To solve this issue, I may provide some suggestions that your team can take note of. Sort out promotional price for students/senior citizens/6yo or below children. If this suggestion sounds not realistic in your planning, at least AT LEAST have better price for Malaysians supporters, compared to the foreign supporters. How could PMO2023 ridiculously get money from audience, who just want to support their favourite Malaysian players? RIDICULOUS! (Fun fact: India open 2023 is opened for FREE ADMISSION) Hopefully the upcoming tournaments in Malaysia (Malaysia Master 2023/Malaysia Open 2024) will be developed with more improvement. One word says all: DISAPPOINTED
Tickets are so super duper expensive. So the fans experience compare to last year dimmed. So many empty seats. The carpet at the sides of the court always got torn and they dare to mention it’s S1000 with higher price. What a shame!
