With frequent light rail services available, the best way to get to and from the SCG is by public transport. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, allowing plenty of time to enter the venue through security and find their seat.
Below you can find general information on travel and parking for Sydney Cricket Ground. Individual events may have additional/restricted services available, and so we recommend clicking through to the event and viewing the Travel & Parking tab for event-specific information.
Despite public transport being the best option for most guests, parking facilities are available around the SCG for those that need to drive. Parking payments for all facilities controlled by the SCGT are via debit/credit cards only, and no cash will be accepted. Parking at all sites is limited and Special Event Clearways may be in force for surrounding areas. All car parks have areas reserved for fans with accessible requirements, subject to capacity.
These are some of the options for event parking:
EP2 and EP3
Public parking on event days only ($30 fee per car). Entry to EP2 (Kippax) and EP3 (Showground) via Driver Avenue. It's approximately a 200 m (2 min) walk to SCG.
Driver Avenue
The centre portion of Driver Avenue is closed for larger events. Access to MP1 and EP2 is from Moore Park Road and the Eastern Distributor in the north and EP3 via Lang Road and Anzac Parade in the south. It's approximately a 200 m (2 min) walk to SCG.
Entertainment Quarter
Public parking (fees apply). Entry to the Entertainment Quarter parking via Lang Road.
Sydney Boys High School
Public parking for selected events only (fees apply). Entry to Sydney Boys High School via Cleveland Street. It's approximately a 500 m (6 min) walk to SCG.
Sydney Girls High School
Public parking for selected events only (fees apply). Entry to Sydney Girls High School via Anzac Parade and Cleveland Street. It's approximately a 700 m (8 min) walk to SCG.
There are permanent taxi ranks located in the Entertainment Quarter on Errol Flynn Boulevard (opposite the Hordern Pavilion) and another on Moore Park Road (opposite the Olympic Hotel).
Special event shuttle buses (Route 1) between Central and Moore Park may run during major events.
Around the ground, visitors to the SCG will find a huge range of food and drink offerings to keep them happy during their visit. Sitting alongside the stadium's classic brands, such as The Kiosk, The Bar, and The Coffee Shop, the SCG has introduced delicious Merivale outlets like Queen Chow (Victor Trumper Stand L3), Vinnie's Pizza (Noble-Bradman Stand L1, 2, and 4), The Chicken Shop (Churchill-Brewongle Stand L1), and El Loco (Victor Trumper Stand L1).
Standard admission entry gates to the SCG are located in 2 main areas. Gates B, C, D and E can be found on Driver Avenue, on the west side of the ground. Gates F, G and H are located at the north end of the ground, near Allianz Stadium.
Catch a light rail service to Moore Park on the L2 Randwick Line or L3 Kingsford Line to get within a short walking distance of the SCG –approximately 450 m (5 min). At Central Station, light rail services leave via Chalmers Street and bring you to the Moore Park stop, which is located on Anzac Parade, just south of the SCG. Services generally run every 5 to 10 minutes.
Cyclists will find many bike racks in convenient locations along Driver Avenue in Moore Park. All pathways in Moore Park are shared footpath/cycleways. Please note these facilities are not monitored and it is the responsibility of the cyclist to secure the bicycle before entering the venue.
When the weather is good, why not walk? It takes around 25 minutes to walk from Central to Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter walkway.
Sydney Cricket Ground has a capacity of approximately 48,601. However, the capacity does differ between events depending on the seating configuration.
