this was my first time to this event and I loved it...even the sun came out for the entire day!! My only comment is regarding the absolute lack of anywhere to sit outside the stadiums. You have so many wonderful food vendors, but absolutely no where to sit to enjoy it!! How odd...I've been to all of the other 4 majors plus the BNP Paribas in Palm Springs, and all of those venues offer wonderful seating options...how come??
I forgot to mention that the signage is atrocious, as there is literally no way to find your seat without multiple attempts and asking and even then, very hard to know which door to enter.
Very easy to get to via the metro, especially as a solo visitor.
Would definitely attend again my only concern is not being able to bring in water or access to a water fountain.
Fantastic experience. Very well organized
Unforgetable
A nightmare to get to, trains totally rammed. The venue is so busy and you don’t see the ‘magnificent views’ at the venue as all you see is scaffolding for the seating and big blue plastic screening everywhere. Food selection is limited and not great, it’s a place to be seen at, as opposed to tennis. Far too crowded, not a lot of space to relax and unwind, no protection from the sunshine and all in all i’d never return.
Purchased box seats in order to watch round 3 men’s and women’s singles - one player defaulted and match canceled and I am now going to be refunded the $800 spent on my 4 tickets. Their response is unacceptable and I would recommend get a day pass only - save your money. Shame in organizers
British players against French players . The audience where terrible no respect and sounded like a bunch of monkeys discussing
The glass panels were dirty. The seating arrangements are confusing and inconvenient.
Spent a day at the tournament and had an awesome time. Warm weather but there's shade and water fountains and space to chill out. Indian Wells is beautiful! Staff are super helpful - they help everything run smooth. I enjoyed hanging out at the practice courts watching the players warm-up! Already interested in going again next year!
This is the worst tennis tournament I’ve ever seen. The semi finals were held a day before the finals, that was atrocious. Instead of doing a better job at scheduling, the players were subjected to mental and physical fatigue. The weather conditions were bad enough, but to have the finalist play a day before the finals, shame on this tournament’s coordinators.
Why not allow the first, second, third rounds play back to back days!
So disappointing!!!
Our second visit to Indian Wells for the BNP Paribas Open. We are both big tennis fans and so it's great to have the "fifth major" on our side of the states. The overall facilities at Indian Wells are impressive and allowed for a great week of live tennis...which is why we came!
COVID rules did seem to cause more confusion than since our previous visit, which just seemed to slow everything down with bigger queues, longer waits, helpers unsure of information - and so removed one star. I hope next year things will be back to normal and will be a 5-star event again!!
Will definitely be back 😍🎾
Foro Italico is a really unique venue as you walk around with all the giant athlete statues surrounding the facilities!
We went in 2019 and the event was busy...as expected... but queues moved fast so no problems there. Food and drink reasonably priced and enough choice.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and although we only had ground tickets, we had a great time watching the matches out in the sunshine. Would love to go again and would be a dream to get center court tickets.
