Super day out
The atmosphere and organisation of the overall tennis event was fantastic as always. However, we were disappointed with the standard of what was offered at the Sky Lounge hospitality day. Its only saving grace to be honest was the friendliness and attention of the staff. Otherwise, I would say it was very poor value for money considering the inflated price compared to the previous year. Canapés were vaguely passed around rather than left on table. The food itself was very much “style over substance” - some strange concoctions, too, which were not appealing to either the eye or the palette. Chef would do better to stick to more commonplace ingredients, cooked well, and to cater for a wider range of tastes, especially those who don’t eat meat. I doubt we will do the Sky Lounge again.

There were 2 tents for info/assistance with no-one in them and massive coffee queues next door. More coffee bars wd go down well especially wen we all arrive as many/most have made a longish journey and need a coffee.
I have been on tuesday the 6-11-24 at the Boss Open! At first I have to mention that the parking situation is awfull, there have been free slots pretty close to the courts but there was a need of a reservation the officials told us,, so we have to choin the car park, this spot has been crowded at 11:30, so we had to wait for a couple of minutes - at the end of the day we had a bill for 16 Euro!! So if you travel from Karlsruhe like I did , public travel is no option!!!
The tournament was great, we have been lucky about the weather and the scedule, but also here prices for beverage and food are extremly expensive...
Best regards Bernd
There had been rain the night before affecting the 3 playing surfaces. we turned up at the scheduled starting time of 11am. Play started 5 hours later at 4pm. During this time, rather than working frantically on the centre court, occasionally one or two people would wander on to one of the three courts and spread sand and slowly do some work. In my opinion the organisers treated the paying public with absolute contempt. By the time it actually started, the weather had turned again most people had left frozen and disgusted. If they had focussed all resources from an early hour on the centre court play should have started at 11am. Having not had a tournament in Bucharest for years the amateurish way this was handled suggests there shouldn't be another one. We flew from the UK especially to watch the tennis and felt the way the public were treated was appalling.
fantastic atmosphere, good organisation except the parking situation
Very well organized. I extremely appreciated that nobody was allowed to pass by after the game started. No exception!
And I loved any and each of the tenis player. The toilets were a little too far, but happily were more than enough. Kiosks with souvenirs, coffee, snacks were also enough of them. And what was pure luck, great weather. Millions thanks to Mr. Țiriac who brought to reality something we only hoped to be, our great Ilie Năstase and Mr. Marica for this achievement.
Can't even watch the player's training. Other than that it's nice.
Great event. Gets better and more professional each year. I like the variety of food trucks and the bars and seating areas. Centre court is well maintained and all seats have great views. The calibre of players also gets betters every year. It's just a nice vibe to spend the day or evening there. The merchandise store this year was bit too small and hard to find. I preferred it in previous years.
Very professional setup
Wonderful atmosphere…great matches excellent organisation
This was a third visit to this particular tournament. We always try to get end of court seats on the Millennium stadium, so have no idea how the access and demand on the outside courts are, but seemed to involve plenty of either early starts of queuing.
We tend not to leave the court during the session paid for, which is 2 matches of course. Plenty of others do, beats me, why pay to watch only half a tennis match ??
The catering options are collected in one area and all seems fresh, and not outrageous prices.
The crowd control at 'sit downs'is pretty good, but there are usually a few ignorant morons whom are unaware they're behind the servers arm causing distraction.
We attended the tennis last Tuesday and Wednesday and enjoyed the tennis thoroughly. It is a super event. All the volunteers were excellent too. I can report on some concerns on the Tuesday where we had to leave our seats, exit and have tickets for evening verified for which we were given a bracelet. This was a chaotic arrangement and as a result we missed the first hour of the evening session as there was a huge queue. I also noticed some serious safety seating issues where two attendees fell while moving seats in a very dangerous way. Each of them were very lucky not to be seriously injured! Another issue related to a drain cover unsecured that was a really dangerous hazard. I have a picture and I actually tried to fix it myself! I am not an expert but some more careful public safety checks need to be done. I did not see any signs regarding safety in the venue.
The lack of numbered seating in the M sections led to avoidable disruption with spectators having to arrive up to 2 hours early to get a good view and then upon leaving their seats for refreshments returning to find someone else sitting there.
It made the tournament staff's lives unnecessarily difficult also
A wonderful venue as always with a casual relaxing vibe. Spectator experience is made fantastic with open seating throughout the venue.
The venue needs additional support from vendors such as Dunlop and other partnerships. Spectator activities needs to increase massively with the likes of interactive games or knowledge based quiz tasks.
The temperature is always an issue for international spectators and I highly recommend the TD review how they support/aid spectator comfort.
Good tournament with lots going on within the site. Seating good allowing clear views of tennis matches. Extremely helpful to have free pick up from railway station to site, but not well published. Would be helpful to have more information about being able to watch from other courts. Would be helpful to have dates of tournament confirmed earlier
Very mixed experience. The tennis was excellent with good seats at reasonable prices. The food court had an excellent range of food also at reasonable prices but needed more seating. Access to the site needs to be by taxi/Uber which are cheap by European standards. Access to seats OK for fit and healthy people but loads of stairs and no lifts so difficult/impossible for elderly or those with mobility issues.
Administration was abysmal - website poor and uninformative; emails to get required info were just ignored; e-tickets were supposed to be in QTF App wallet but that wouldn't accept my log on with nonsensical 'check your internet ' error message until after the tournament had started - no good to give confidence that we would actually be able to get in. They need to get their act together big time!
Need much more activities before the matches - would be good to open the gates sooner.
VIP tickets don’t offer a great value for the price, not even the seats are better.
Nevertheless, a great event, well organised and with a lot of potential, it’s always very nice attend.
Very disappointed to see that all the seats were not occupied for 1/4, 1/2 and final … and couldn’t event buy them … I was there from the beginning and I really enjoy it. People were kind every time … except the Friday.
