The first-ever United Cup is set to shake-up team tennis in just a few weeks, pitting squads of ATP and WTA stars against each other in an intense international competition – but what is the United Cup, and how can you see the inaugural tournament for yourself?
The United Cup will take place between 29 December 2022 and 8 January 2023. It will feature 18 national teams, comprised of both ATP (male) and WTA (female) players. Each team qualifies based on its eligible players’ ATP singles, WTA singles, or combined singles rankings. Among the qualified teams are Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the United States, with players such as Paula Badosa, Matteo Berrettini, Taylor Fritz, Rafael Nadal, Cameron Norrie, Jessica Pegula, Iga Świątek, and Stefanos Tsitsipas all ready to represent their countries. The 18 teams will first compete in 6 groups of 3 teams, with each team playing ties against the other 2 teams in their group. Following group stage play-offs, 4 teams then advance to the “Final Four” stage, during which knock-out semifinals will be played, before the all-important grand final tie, which will decide the very first United Cup champions!

The group stage will be hosted across 3 Australian cities, Brisbane, Perth, and Sydney, between 29 December 2022 and 4 January 2023; each city will be home to 2 groups. Sydney will then host the Final Four stage, between 6-8 January 2023.
Tickets are available on a sessional basis, with all sessions including either 2 singles matches, or 2 singles matches and a mixed doubles match. Adult single session tickets begin at AUD $40 in Brisbane and Sydney, during the group stage, and at $30.60 in Perth. During the Final Four ties, some adult tickets are also available for $40, but most are on sale for over $100. During all ties, across both the group stage and Final Four stage, there are also several ticketing concessions available, allowing children, students, seniors, veterans, and disabled persons to see this new tournament at a discounted price.
