There’s just one event remaining in the 2024 PGA Tour regular season, and once the Wyndham Championship is complete the world’s top golfers will be set to go head-to-head over 3 must-watch competitions.
The top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings will battle it out in the FedEx St. Jude Championship (12-18 August) at TPC Southwind in Memphis. A PGA Tour staple since 1967, this competition has formed the opening leg of the playoffs since 2007. Last year’s clash was won by Lucas Glover, after he held his nerve to see off Patrick Cantlay in a dramatic playoff that saw the latter find the water with his tee shot. General admission Grounds tickets start at USD $33 for adults, while hospitality starts at $225. You can find out more FedEx St. Jude Championship ticket information here.
After the FedEx St. Jude, the field will be whittled down to the top 50, who will progress to the BMW Championship (19-25 August) at Castle Pines Golf Club outside Denver. The BMW Championship also became a FedEx Cup staple in 2007, but it has an even longer history stretching back to the foundation of the Western Open in 1899. It’s also one of the few PGA Tour events to be held at a different venue each year, in much the same way that the majors do – aside from The Masters at Augusta. Grounds tickets start at $64. More ticketing information for the BMW Championship can be found here.
Finally, the top 30 players will advance to the Tour Championship (26 August – 1 September), held at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. With only the best-performing players competing in this event, it makes for an unmissable showdown to cap off the season before the FedEx Cup Fall, and tickets start from just $33. Check out ticket information and more for the Tour Championship here.
Last year, both the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship were won by Viktor Hovland, earning FedEx Cup glory. The Norwegian has had just one top-10 finish in the 13 events he’s played in this year, when he finished 3rd in the PGA Championship, and he sits back in 55th in the FedEx Cup standings. Scottie Scheffler, who is bidding to top the PGA Tour money list for the 3rd season running, currently sits top of the FedEx Cup standings with an astonishing 6 victories in 2024, including wins in both The Players Championship and The Masters, so he’ll be the one to beat.
