The BMW Championship is a professional men's golf tournament, part of the PGA Tour season. Historically, this championship is related to the Western Open, which was established in 1899 and had been part of the professional golf tour since 1916.
In 2007, the Western Open was reformatted into the BMW Championship and has since served as the penultimate FedEx Cup Playoff event on the PGA Tour calendar, adding yet more drama and excitement to what is already a top-class sporting competition.
The PGA Tour named the BMW Championship its Tournament of the Year 3 years running between 2012 and 2014.
