It was only a few months ago that Scottie Scheffler successfully defended his title at the Phoenix Open, joining a select group of players – including the legendary Ben Hogan and Arnold Palmer – to do so in this tournament in its illustrious 91-year history. Despite some windy conditions, the American carded just 2 bogeys all week in the competition which saw him finish with a score of 19-under par, 2 strokes clear of closest rival Nick Taylor.
If you’re already looking forward to seeing if Scheffler can make it a 3-peat next year, you’re in luck. Tickets to the 2024 edition are already on sale, with general admission starting at just USD $58. A huge range of hospitality options are available, from the Members Club to the Greenskeeper Suites. Spectators can choose from a variety of official packages; single-day entry to the Skybar starts at $353, while full-week access to the Members Club starts at $883 per person.
Although the event is nominally just another tournament on the PGA Tour, the Waste Management Phoenix Open is a truly special golf event that can rival the majors themselves. Indeed, it is fondly known as “The Greatest Show on Grass” for a reason. The event draws in more than 700,000 fans each year, with the most popular days such as Friday and Saturday often eclipsing 200,000 attendees; as a result, it is the most well-attended competition in all of golf, edging out The Masters, The Open, and even the Ryder Cup.
It is held on the aptly named Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale, whose iconic hole – the par-3 16th – is surrounded by a 20,000-seater grandstand known as “The Coliseum.” When players score holes-in-one there, spectators generate an atmosphere unlike almost any other in the sport – a bucket-list experience for any golf fan.
