After 2 rounds of Guinness Men’s Six Nations matches, Ireland and Scotland are in first and second in the standings respectively, England and France sit in third and fourth, and Italy and Wales are propping-up the table, in fifth and sixth. With 3 out of 5 rounds remaining, however, there’s still everything to play for; talk of an Irish grand slam is somewhat premature, Wales’ performances may improve, and the French will still fancy their chances of retaining the Six Nations trophy.
Following a week without Six Nations matches – 1 of 2 such rest weeks – the competition will resume with the third round of matches. On Saturday 25 February, Italy will be hosting Ireland in Rome, and England will travel to Cardiff to play Wales, in what could prove to be the perfect challenge for Warren Gatland’s men, and the inspiration they need to find their form once again. On Sunday 26 February, France and Scotland will then battle it out in Paris for the Auld Alliance Trophy. With the Scots looking like genuine title contenders, and having won both of their first 2 Six Nations matches for the first time since 1996, a French victory will not be a formality.
Tickets are still available for all 3 matches: adult prices start at EUR €30 in Rome, at GBP £120 in Cardiff, and at €155 in Paris. Tickets are also on general sale for 4 of the 6 matches being played across rounds 4 and 5.
