Embraced by wrestling fans since its debut in 1988, the Royal Rumble is one of WWE's best-loved shows. From The Rock to Daniel Bryan, some of the greatest stars ever to step inside the squared-circle have made their name at the Rumble, and the Premium Live Event (PLE) continues to be one of the most highly-anticipated evenings on the WWE calendar.
Held each January, the Royal Rumble not only features all the title bouts and grudge matches that WWE fans have come to expect from one of the company's "Big 5" shows, but it is also home to the famous 30-person “Rumble” matches from which the event takes its name. In essence, these bouts are enormous battle royals, the likes of which are rarely seen in pro-wrestling, where combatants can only be eliminated by being thrown over the top rope. The last man, or woman, standing earns one of the greatest prizes in sport – a ticket to WrestleMania and the opportunity to battle for a world title of their choosing on the “Grandest Stage of them All”.
In 2024, 2 Rumble matches will be part of the card – one for men, and one for women. The drama is all set to unfold this weekend at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida on Saturday 27 January.

What to Expect at Royal Rumble 2024
WWE events are generally organized around a "card" of matches. Taking place one after another, these matches see 2 or more wrestlers pit their strength (and their wits) against each other in an attempt to achieve victory by pinning their opponent to the ground, or making them submit. Between matches, WWE keeps fans entertained with backstage interviews, interactive segments, and surprise appearances.
As one of WWE’s “Big 5” Premium Live Events – alongside Money in the Bank, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, & WrestleMania – the Royal Rumble is often home to some of the biggest matches of the year. Expect title belts to be on the line and scores to be settled during contests throughout the night.
The Rumble features enormous bouts across the card, but it is best known for its famous “Rumble” matches. These bouts, one for men and one for women, begin with 2 participants in the ring. New wrestlers then enter at regular intervals until all 30 stars have walked the ramp. Meanwhile, wrestlers aim to eliminate their opponents by throwing them over the top rope. Both feet must touch the ground for a wrestler to be eliminated. The last wrestler standing when all opponents have been eliminated is victorious and earns a title shot of their choice at WrestleMania.

Royal Rumble 2024 Tickets & Prices
Tropicana Field is an indoor, domed stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida – just across from the major city of Tampa. The venue is the home ballpark for MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays.
Tropicana Field has previously hosted WWE events, but not with fans onsite. WWE Thunderdome – a bio-secure bubble from which WWE aired its shows during the Covid-19 pandemic – was based at the venue between August 2020 – July 2021. The Royal Rumble will be the stadium’s first opportunity to host a full WWE event with fans in attendance.
Tropicana Field has a capacity of over 25,000. Tickets on the Upper level are available from around $178 at present, while Ringside Floor tickets cost closer to $170.
Standard Tickets
Seating at Tropicana Field is split across 3 main levels:
- Ringside Floor (Sections A–H) – a fan favorite seating area, ringside floor tickets bring you up close to the action with seats on the arena floor, just feet away from the action
- Lower (100 Level) – tickets on the Lower level provide close-up, slightly elevated views from the venue’s lowest tier of seating
- Club (200 Level) – premium elevated views that still feel close to the action make this one of the stadium’s most popular seating areas
- Upper (300 Level) – seats on the venue’s top tier are a great place to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a bird’s-eye-view of the action
