One of WWE's "Big 5" pay-per-views (PPVs), the Royal Rumble is known as the beginning of the "Road to WrestleMania". Alongside high-stakes title bouts, this historic PPV will also showcase 2 battle-royal-style "rumble" matches, in which wrestlers enter the ring at regular intervals and attempt to eliminate their opponents by throwing them over the top rope. The winners of these matches will earn a title shot at the Showcase of the Immortals – WrestleMania.
