Although it is the youngest of the company’s “Big Four” PPVs, AEW Revolution has been breaking records and setting pulses racing ever since it was launched. The first edition of the event, held at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena, was named “Best Major Wrestling Show” of 2020 by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. A year later, headlined by a brutal barbed wire deathmatch, Revolution smashed AEW’s PPV buy record, becoming the highest grossing non-WWE PPV since 1999.
This year, on 6 March, AEW brings Revolution to Addition Financial Arena in Orlando. With storylines always developing in the wrestling world, it is still too early to tell who might be taking part in the event, but AEW’s packed roster means that fans will likely catch sight of stars like Jon Moxley, Adam Cole, Hangman Page, Britt Baker and CM Punk.
While Revolution is certain to be AEW’s most highly anticipated event of the spring, the fledgling wrestling company has plenty more on offer to satisfy fans’ appetites for action. In fact, Revolution is set to headline a “Weekend Spectacular” of grappling festivities in Orlando.
This celebration of suplexes and sleeper holds in the Sunshine State will begin on Friday 4 March when AEW hosts its weekly Rampage show at Addition Financial Arena. Fans in attendance will not only be able to glimpse the likes of Jade Cargill, Cody Rhodes and Jurassic Express, but also enjoy the last tense stages of several feuds and storylines set to culminate at Revolution. Tickets for Rampage are available now from $29 in the Lower Level (100s), and $344 at ringside.
Sandwiched between Rampage and Revolution, on Saturday 5 March, will be the calm before the storm – AEW Fan Fest. This event gives fans a rare opportunity to get up close to their favourite stars, with autograph sessions, photo opportunities, meet and greets and surprise appearances all expected to take place. Hosted, once again, at Addition Financial Arena, Fan Fest admits guests on a general admission basis only, and although tickets continue to sell quickly, Koobit users can spend an afternoon with AEW’s kings and queens of the squared circle for around $130.
Of course, no matter how you take in AEW’s “Weekend Spectacular”, all roads lead to Revolution on Sunday 6 March. Tickets to the third iteration of the PPV are on sale now, with prices starting at $45 in the Upper Level (200s), $94 in the Lower Level (100s), and $189 at ringside. If previous editions of the event are anything to go by, the night will be full of “I was there” moments as AEW continues to forge its growing wrestling legacy.
