One of 8 “Signature Events” on the PGA Tour calendar, the Arnold Palmer Invitational holds a special status for players and fans alike. It started life back in 1966 as the Florida Citrus Open Invitational before settling at Bay Hill – which was owned by Palmer, who won the tournament in 1971 – and changing its name in 1979. It eventually adopted Palmer’s name in 2007.
As an invitational tournament and a signature event, the API features a limited field of elite qualifying players. With a total purse of USD $20 million up for grabs and a $4 million prize awarded to the winner, this prestigious competition attracts the world’s best for a thrilling contest that fans often find to be surprisingly intimate given the size of the event, thanks to their close proximity to the players. Since Palmer’s death in 2016, the victor has also received a traditional red cardigan in honour of the golfing legend.

From 3-9 March, Scottie Scheffler will be hoping to defend his title and win this event for the third time in his career, having triumphed in 2022 and 2024. Wyndham Clark was his closest rival in the 2024 edition, but even he was 5 strokes back on his American compatriot, who produced a sensational performance that included 6 birdies on the final day.
General admission Grounds tickets start at $43 for Mastercard holders or $47 for general spectators, and the event also features a wide array of premium experiences and tickets starting at $122/$134.
