The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) Playoff Finals Weekend is the climax of the ice hockey season in the United Kingdom. Comprised of 2 semifinal fixtures, a third-place playoff, and then the grand final match, the 2-day event ends with the crowning of the playoff champion in front a crowd of thousands. The 2023/24 Weekend will take place between 20-21 April 2024, at Nottingham’s National Ice Centre, and it promises to be a highly competitive mini-tournament: whilst plenty of matches are still to be played between now and April, the league standings are currently incredibly tight, with only a couple of points separating teams up and down the table.
Among the sides hoping to qualify for the Playoff Finals Weekend – only the top-4 do so – will be reigning champions the Belfast Giants. The Northern Irish club is currently in mid-table but possesses the quality to climb the ladder and challenge for the title again this season. Meanwhile the Sheffield Steelers and Cardiff Devils – this year’s frontrunners – will fancy their chances of finishing the regular season strongly and making it all the way to the semifinals, and perhaps beyond, but there will also be plenty of sides from Glasgow to Guildford aiming to do just the same.
Playoff Finals Weekend tickets are sold as weekend passes, providing fans with access to both event days, and the opportunity to watch all 4 fixtures across Saturday and Sunday. Weekend passes are categorised into team sections, with fans of each EIHL club assigned 1, 2, or 3 seating blocks within the National Ice Centre. Adult passes are currently on sale for GBP £99 plus fees as part of “early bird” ticket sales; ticket prices will increase slightly after 24 January 2024. Discounted tickets are also available for children, students, seniors, and disabled fans.
