In the west of Paris, nestled on the curving banks of the Seine, you will find Stade Roland-Garros, a refined and elegant venue befitting of the affluent 16th arrondissement in which it sits. Once a year, this tennis complex’s 20 clay courts, well-maintained walkways, and countless eateries, outlets, and kiosks become inundated with thousands of visitors, as Roland-Garros – the French Open – comes to town. With ticket sales now open, the grandeur of this exciting grand slam tournament feels like it’s just around the corner!
This year, Roland-Garros is taking place between Monday 16 May and Sunday 5 June, and it promises to be a tournament to remember. In the women’s draw, world number 1 Ashleigh Barty will be hotly-tipped to reclaim the title she won in 2019, but defending champion Barbora Krejčíková won't give up her trophy without a fight. In the men’s draw, Novak Djokovic will be desperate to fill the front pages for all the right reasons, but will face stiff competition in the form of a resurgent Rafael Nadal, and the new world number 1, Daniil Medvedev. Neither draw is a closed contest, however: rising stars, wily veterans, and canny clay court specialists abound in both women’s and men’s tennis!
After Coronavirus restrictions limited last year’s ticket sales, fans can again choose from the full gamut of Roland-Garros courts and sessions. Tickets are available on the 3 main show courts, Philippe-Chatrier, Suzanne-Lenglen, and Simonne-Mathieu, as well as on the outside courts. Tickets on Court Philippe-Chatrier, the tournament’s famous centre court, start from €40 ($43.49) per session for an adult, and there are also plenty of packages available too. For example, spectators can choose consecutive sessions across multiple dates with a Night + Day Pass, or they can opt to see every minute of the semifinals with a Semifinals Pass! Daily tickets, which combine both the day and night sessions on a given date, are also available on Court Philippe-Chatrier, with prices starting at €70 ($76.11).
Meanwhile, on Courts Suzanne-Lenglen and Simonne-Mathieu, tickets are valid for an entire tournament date as standard. Adult prices on Suzanne-Lenglen start at €50 ($54.36), and on Simonne-Mathieu you can nab a ticket for just €34 ($36.97). Tickets for the Outside Courts start at €20 ($21.75); there are also discounts for spectators aged under 25, during the tournament’s second week.
On top of the fantastic range of standard ticket options, hospitality sales at Roland-Garros are also in full swing! All packages include match tickets for either Court Philippe-Chatrier or Court Suzanne-Lenglen, and it will come as no surprise that the premium perks at this tournament are some of the most luxurious available in world tennis – it's Paris, after all!
