On 25 May this year, AEW will celebrate its 4th birthday. Launched in 2019, the company’s journey from scrappy upstart to household name has been a story of rapid transformation and unencumbered success. Later this summer, the promotion will take its next big step – AEW is going All In.
On 27 August 2023, AEW will stage its inaugural show outside North America when a brand new pay-per-view – All In – takes place at iconic Wembley Stadium. With more than 90,000 wrestling fans set to be in the building, the event is likely to break the all-time attendance record for wrestling in the UK (78,927) set by WWE SummerSlam in 1992.

AEW Owner Tony Khan announced All In back in April: “The UK is one of the most important markets in professional wrestling, and AEW is coming in hot as the number one wrestling company in the UK on television,” he said. “We want our debut in London to be epic in scale, and there’s no better venue than Wembley Stadium to deliver what I know will be one of the greatest events in AEW’s history.”
In the UK, Khan’s excitement has been reciprocated. Even before tickets for All In went on general sale last Friday (5 May), more than 45,000 had been sold in a number of pre-sales. Consequently, fans looking for tickets will have to move fast to snatch up the last few seats. With prices starting at £30 on the 500 Level, and £1500 for tickets closest to the ring, AEW has ensured that there is something for everyone at this landmark event.

Of course, a wrestling show is nothing without wrestlers, and while the full card won’t be confirmed until later this year, wrestling megastars like Chris Jericho, CM Punk, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, Britt Baker, Toni Storm, and Bryan Danielson are all likely to take part. The event will also be a homecoming for several British grapplers, including WWE alumni Pac, Jamie Hayter, and Saraya.
WWE’s Clash at the Castle event drew more than 68,000 fans to Cardiff in 2022, proving that there is still great appetite for pro-wrestling in the UK. This August, AEW, arguably the number 2 wrestling company in the world, is all lined up to usurp its rival and make history at Wembley with the best-attended and highest-grossing pro-wrestling show in British history. AEW went All In, and if ticket sales – and the buzz surrounding the show – are anything to go by, it looks like the gamble has paid off.
