Atlanta Braves v San Diego Padres (9 April 2023), Baseball
Truist Park, Atlanta, USA
For baseball fans, Easter means that MLB is back! When Easter Sunday rolls around in 2023, the league will be rounding off its second week of the season, with many teams playing their first home series. One such team is the Atlanta Braves, who will bring their first home series to a close on Sunday 9 April when they play the San Diego Padres at Truist Park. With tickets starting at USD $14, there’s great-value fun to be had for all the family, including the chance for kids under 14 to run the bases after the game! Los Angeles Lakers v Utah Jazz (9 April 2023), Basketball
Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, USA
The NBA regular season ends on Easter Sunday, and if your team won’t be featuring in the Play-In Tournament or the Playoffs, it will be your last chance to see them in action for a while. For the teams still fighting to get into the postseason competition, it could go down to the wire with everything at stake. One of the standout games could be the Utah Jazz’s visit to the Los Angeles Lakers. At the time of writing, the teams are 10th and 11th in the Western Conference, respectively, and so that game could determine who sneaks into the Play-In Tournament and who misses out! Tickets start from USD $109.

Round 4: Geelong Cats v Hawthorn (10 April 2023), Australian Rules Football
Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne, Australia
The traditional Easter Monday fixture between Victoria rivals Geelong and Hawthorn is one of the highlights of the AFL calendar every year. The clubs’ shared history includes infamous grand final meetings in 1989 and 2008, and a supposed “Kennett Curse”, initiated by comments by then-Hawthorn club president Jeff Kennett, which saw Geelong best Hawthorn 11 times in a row between 2008 and 2013. Every derby is highly anticipated, but the Easter Monday game is the main event. That this Easter Monday match will be the first since Geelong won the 2022 AFL Premiership will no doubt help add another chapter to this storied rivalry. Adult ticket prices start at AUD $27 (USD $18) for the General Admission sections.
Monday Night Raw (10 April 2023), Wrestling
Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle, USA
The Monday after Easter is traditionally the day on which the White House hosts its annual Easter Egg Roll, but over in Seattle, the Superstars of WWE will be rolling into town for Monday Night Raw. Taking place just one week after WrestleMania, Raw at the Climate Pledge Arena will allow wrestling fans in the Pacific Northwest to enjoy some of the fallout from this year’s Showcase of the Immortals. Backed by a famously passionate crowd, the likes of Cody Rhodes and Bianca Belair will take to the ring with an eye on growing their legacy and solidifying their place at the top of pro-wrestling’s biggest company. For fans hoping to see it all play out, tickets are available from USD $48.

Round 6: Wests Tigers v Parramatta Eels (10 April 2023), Rugby
Accor Stadium (Stadium Australia), Sydney, Australia
The Wests Tigers and the Parramatta Eels have played against each other on Easter Monday since 2014, with the 8 meetings resulting in 4 wins apiece for each team. Despite finishing the 2022 season second-bottom of the table, the Wests Tigers came out on top on the previous Easter Monday, winning in dramatic fashion, 21-20. That victory at the Western Sydney Stadium – against an Eels team which went on to reach the grand final – will give the Tigers confidence for their 2023 meeting; but the Eels will be hoping that their strong season also puts them in a stead for 10 April. Adult ticket prices for the next instalment of this growing rivalry start at AUD $35 (USD $23) including fees, in Reserved Seating and Non-Alcohol Zone seating.
Grand Prix of the Americas (14-16 April 2023), Motorsports
Circuit of the Americas, Austin, USA
The eggs might all have been found but the Easter fun continues, and Austin will be in a party mood when the Grand Prix of the Americas roars into town. This year sees the 10th anniversary of one of MotoGP’s biggest races, a fixture on the calendar at Circuit of the Americas since 2013. In that period, the iconic Marc Márquez has triumphed a remarkable 7 times, but last year Enea Bastianini delighted fans in Italy by claiming maximum points on the track. Bastianini has switched from Gresini Racing to Ducati Lenovo for 2023, and his new team will be desperate for a repeat performance from the Italian rider on his return to Austin. Weekend tickets are available from USD $89, with daily tickets starting at just $13.
