The Black Knights are the football team of the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision of the NCAA and play as an Independent team, without a conference affiliation.
Army claims 3 national titles, dating from 1944, 1945, and 1946. Between 1998 and 2004, the Black Knights competed in Conference USA, but aside from this period the team has always competed as an Independent college.
The annual rivalry game between Army and Navy is one of the most enduring rivalries in college football. Each year, the Army, Navy, and Air Force teams compete for the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy.
