The first Argentinian national rugby union side was formed in 1910 for a match against a touring British team, and by the 1960s the team was beginning to hold its own against top international opponents. The Pumas' history has since been peppered with big wins and historic upsets, but as a team which sits just below the top tier, major silverware has remained elusive. Nonetheless, Argentina is a highly competent and much-admired test side; the Pumas reached the World Cup semifinal in 2007, and joined The Rugby Championship in 2012, milestones which have only improved the growth and strength of Argentinian rugby union!
