Associazione Calcio Milan, better known as AC Milan, is an Italian professional football club based in Milan and playing in the country's top tier Serie A. The club plays home matches at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro).
📜 AC Milan History
The club was founded in 1899 by English duo Alfred Edwards and Herbert Kilpin as Milan Football and Cricket Club. A split in the club 9 years later over the signing of foreign players led to the creation of Milan’s local rivals Internazionale, with whom they share the San Siro stadium and contest the Derby della Madonnina.
The Rossoneri (Red and Blacks) were forced to Italianise their name – which was simply Milan Football Club – in 1939 during Italy’s fascist era, leading to their current moniker.
One of Italy’s most successful teams, Milan have frequently boasted legendary players over the years, and only Real Madrid have won more European Cups/UEFA Champions League titles than their 7.
