The Abierto Mexicano Telcel Presented by HSBC, more commonly known as the simply Abierto Mexicano or the Mexican Open, is an annual tennis tournament held in Acapulco, Mexico. The event started in 1993 in Mexico City as a men's only tournament, but in 2001 it moved to its current location in Acapulco and expanded to include a women's competition. Abierto Mexicano is classified as an ATP 500 men's event.
From 2022, the tournament moved to Arena GNP Seguros, a brand new venue just minutes away from its previous home. The Abierto Mexicano's location on the shores of the Pacific Ocean gives it a unique atmosphere, and makes it a popular tournament for those looking to combine world-class sport with a well-earned break.
