The World Para Athletics Championships - formerly known as the IPC Athletics World Championships prior to 2017 - are a biennial Paralympic athletics event organised by World Para Athletics, a subcommittee of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
The event was inaugurated in Berlin in 1994 and features athletics events contested by athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities. The championships are parallel to the World Athletics Championships for able-bodied athletes. Since 2011, when they switched from quadrennial scheduling to biennial, the IPC championships have been held in the same years as the World Athletics Championships, although they remain separate events and are not necessarily held in the same host city.
The 2024 event was held in Kobe, Japan. The 2026 edition will be held at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow from 23 July to 2 August.
