The Hilltoppers are the football team of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. They compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the NCAA and play in the Eastern Division of Conference USA.
Western Kentucky claims 13 conference titles, including 7 from the program's time in Division II, 4 from the Football Championship Division, and 2 from the FBS. The Hilltoppers have been a member of the FBS since 2008, originally competing as an independent team before joining the Sun Belt Conference and subsequently Conference USA.
Several notable football players started their careers at Western Kentucky, including current New York Jets quarterback Mike White, who was drafted from college into the Dallas Cowboys.
The Hilltoppers play their home games at Houchens Industries–L. T. Smith Stadium, which has a capacity of 22,000.
